The year
we have worked closely with the communities in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania to support
education in primary schools and ensure retention and enrolment through the
school feeding programs. This report therefore gives an overview of the number
of pupils reached in the various strategic areas;
Strategic
Area 1: Improved protection, access and Quality Education for children.
During
the reporting period, the program was able to conduct an awareness meeting with
area chiefs drawn from the program areas in the three countries
• 200
children 84 boys and 116girls benefitted from school fee subsidy drawn from the
three program areas
• 1280
parents (both single and couples) drawn from Muhuru Bay and Samia areas were
trained on positive parenting. This was done in partnership with a local
partner , Child Fellowship Organization in Uganda and Young Family Ministries
in Tanzania
Strategic
Area 2: Improved Health Status of children and their families through child
Sponsorship
• During
the last quarter of the fiscal year, the program held a free medical camp in
Kisumu, this was supported by Kenya Red Cross Kisumu Branch. In the medical
camp 340 families and children drawn from those families benefited from Vitamin
A Supplementation, Health Talks, and promotion of child immunization among the
under-fives. Covid vaccination promotion and promotion of proper hygiene
practices was also conducted in Muhuru and Samia Areas in Uganda and Tanzania
• We
wish to particularly thank our donors for their generous support and
contribution that made it possible to reach 6500 girls and boys with the
various interventions. We were also able to support 17 public primary schools
drawn from the 3 program areas with vertical bags for vegetable family in a bid
to boost school feeding programs especially among the early grade learners.
